I cut carbon fiber and FRP outdoors, and have wanted a table saw so I made one :) Using Slow old motors, started with an old Hyper-Dash, but ended up cutting better with a torque-tuned, (and battery lasts longer too). Rip gate and mitre slide from aluminum L bracket, but I don't want to further modify the main aluminum table- it's nicely squared to the blade. Special cutting jigs can be easily fashioned from cardboard for precision odd cuts :) General parts list: - Tamiya 74042 Handy Router - 2mm aluminum Plate, (J-mart, Tokyo) - 1/4" Acrylic Sheet Scraps, (Canal Plastics NYC) - 1 1/4" 8-32 flat head machine screws - 2 1/2" 8-32 Carrage Bolts, wing nuts - #8 washers - 26mm diamond cut off wheel and mandrel - Torque Tuned or Light Dash, both regular and pro motors can work. (Stock motor is a bit weak after trying it) - AA battery holder, wire, switch, etc... If you're making something like this, dimensions of all the above parts are pretty flexible.
