Working with carbon fiber indoors is very dangerous to one's health, safety is easy and inexpensive! Living in NYC, I can safely cut fiber/carbon/frp parts in the OUTDOOR trash area of my apartment building. Here's my rig: 1: dust mask, carbon fiber is very dangerous to breathe. 2: Latex gloves, carbon fiber dust embeds in your skin and can cause serious health issues. Also, wear long sleeves and wash your clothes after working. 3: $9 Rotary tool! Very cheap. (harbor freight), important part 12v DC. (Nice Proxxon tools have same 12v model if you prefer) 4: 12v battery, I simply use the same batteries from my cordless drill! I soldered a little power plug using spare electronics I had- be creative! Now, I can take this outside quickly in a little box, and cut carbon fiber and frp any time! Overall cost without battery, less than $25. Be careful not to work where children or pets play, and have fun!

get the one witch two big can mask, you can find it home deport like $30-50
yeah I think you are right, not the right masks, I'm researching good particulate masks online.
that mask isn't enough, I was using it before, still smell the carbon.
