https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coconut_oil Coconut Oil for tire cutting. After research and lots of testing, I'm excited to have found what I believe is the perfect tire cutting lubricant. Coconut oil has enabled me to cut perfect tires- and cuts FAST! Note: I'm using Virgin Coconut Oil, no additives. - Non-toxic, we cook with it - Washes off tires/wheels quickly with regular kitchen dish soap - Very good oil for preserving steel (machines, blades, files, etc...) - Apparently no chemical affect on rubber - Cuts with razor like butter, keep it flowing liberally into the blade. - Easy to find in grocery stores - Not very expensive, can be re-used (do not eat after after use cutting tires, natch) - Melting point, 24 °C (76 °F) + melts to the touch, or under hot running water, or under air from blow dryer, easily wipes off tools + hardens in light refrigerator, easy to wipe/scrape off to easily reclaim - Smells nice while working, Coconut!
